Pittsburgh Wins, Holmes MVP

Let's face it - Arizona showed up late for this game. Their play in the first half was sub-par. Their defense worked well on the goal line and really stepped it up in the second half, that is, until the last couple of minutes. Kurt Warner played an excellent game, completing 31/43 passes for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Santonio Holmes received the MVP award, which I'm not thrilled about. Larry Fitzgerald, who had 127 yards with two touchdowns, and Kurt Warner both (arguably) played better. However, Holmes made the catch that everyone will be talking about for the next couple of weeks.

I'm really happy the Eagles didn't make it. I was trying to tell people that Arizona is a heavily underestimated team. They had a decent team this year but were often overlooked by the media. However, although I'll be cheering for them, it looks like Pittsburgh is the better team.

On the Super Bowl Web site is a poll asking which team you think will win. Out of 265982 votes, Pittsburgh is ahead 54% to 46%.

Thursday's NFL Prediction

It wasn't easy, but I've decided to pick New Orleans to beat Chicago tonight in what should (keyword being should) be an exciting game.
